The
Mercon Coffee Group’s roots began 150 years ago
in Nicaragua when Enrique Baltodano became the pioneer
coffee grower of Nicaragua’s Pacific region.
In 1952, Duilio Baltodano, Enrique’s
grandson founded CISA Exportadora creating the first
company in the Mercon Coffee Group.
Over the past few decades, the Mercon
Coffee Group has expanded into a worldwide network of
companies and offices, including Mercon Coffee Corporation
in New Jersey, Mercon Vietnam, Mercon UK, Mercon Guatemala,
CIGRAH in Honduras and Expogranos in Mexico.
Comercial Internacional de Granos de
Honduras (CIGRAH) began operations in 2000 in San Pedro
Sula. Over the years, CIGRAH has expanded into the main
coffee production zones of Honduras.
Today, CIGRAH operates 3 mills, 5 purchasing
branches, and 4 cupping laboratories which provide a
truly comprehensive quality control system.
CIGRAH is proud to be a Mercon Coffee
Group company. This group of well-capitalized companies
are respected in the international coffee industry and
banking community. Our integrated quality systems ensure
that clients’ requirements are met. Together we
achieve our vision of being the best link from grower
